Put down the PS4 controllers. Step away from the Xbox. Turn off your gaming PC. You’re on a stag do, gentlemen, and the only sniper fire you’re laying down is real.
That’s right, gents. Using bolt-action, bipod-balanced air rifles, you’ll be taking aim at targets in a purpose built sniper range. The weapons are solid and powerful, and the sight and sound of a pellet taking the centre out of a target is way better than anything you’d get from Call of Duty!
We’ll take you to a fantastic outdoor action centre near Harrogate (that’s a short drive away from York), where you’ll be locked and loaded with state of the art air-powered beasts. After a quick instruction course and a safety drill, the boys are turned out onto the range to show what they’ve got!
Lying in the classic commando position, centre your sights on the target. Adjust for elevation, breathe in and exhale very slowly. As you reach the end of the breath, gently squeeze the trigger. You’ll feel like Edward Fox in Day of the Jackal, only better because no-one’s going to burst into the room and take you out before you assassinate the president of France.
A surprisingly adrenaline-filled addition to your stag do in York, sniper range shooting is guaranteed to get the blood racing. How lethal are you?
Not sure about a high ropes course? Don’t worry! We’ve found a quality low ropes course close to York, which offers all the skill and testing technique of an elevated obstacle course, but without the insane altitudes.
You need to be pretty sure that no-one in the stag party is going to freeze on a high rope obstacle. Put the same thing close to the ground, with soft landing pads on all sides, and everyone gets to have fun. As best man, it’s your call. But if you reckon anyone in the team will back out of a big drop, book the low ropes instead. We guarantee you’ll have just as much fun, and no-one will have to change his underpants!
The low ropes course includes balance beams, a zip wire, rope and chain bridges and leap logs. Everyone gets a helmet and overalls to protect against dirt and falls, and course completion is guaranteed.
Failing to complete a high ropes course can put a dampener on the stag party for some of the lads. This way, everyone gets to finish and no-one goes back to York feeling like they let the side down.
You get full instruction and a safety briefing before you start the course.
